Going out to eat is always a treat, but when the restaurant or cafe includes a stunning backdrop such as Palm Beach, on the Northern Beaches, it makes the experience even more worthwhile. 'Palmy' as it's referred to by the locals is as tranquil a spot as they come.
With white sandy beaches and clear waters, you will immediately see why visitors enjoy returning to it again and again. When planning your trip, make sure you head to at least one of these great places to eat in Palm Beach.

Locals will happily tell you that the Boathouse is the best place for breakfast in Palm Beach. Favourites include Toasted Banana Bread and a cup of freshly brewed coffee. The Boathouse is open from 7:00 AM until 3:00 PM and also offers fabulous options for lunch. It is fully licensed, with a BYO option for wine and champagne.
Whether you are stopping in for a milkshake or kombucha, or prefer to order the bucket of prawns or beer battered flathead, the iconic Palm Beach restaurant will not disappoint.
Jonah's Whale Beach is open from Thursday to Sunday for lunch and dinner. Overlooking Whale Beach, you can dine in comfort while enjoying their award-winning wine collection.
Jonah's has a variety of menus to choose from including the Bar & Terrace Menu which features a range of tasting plates to be shared. The Chocolate Cremoso served with wattle seed ice cream is a great way to finish up!
Dunes is situated perfectly on the peninsula at Palm Beach and the restaurant is open from Thursday to Sunday, 11:45 AM until 9:00 PM. The menu features a fusion of Japanese and Australian dishes including a Pumpkin Bowl, Pan Roasted Ocean Trout, Twice Cooked Half Duck, Lamb Ragout & Gnocchi, and the classic Steak Sandwich.
If dining indoors is not your preference, you can always choose to grab a snack and order from the Dunes Kiosk instead, open from 7:30 AM until 3:00 PM. Close to a playground for the kids, the Kiosk makes it easy to enjoy fresh food in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.
Just a short drive from Palm Beach (approximately 10km), The Newport offers a unique dining experience for those seeking a delicious meal with unbeatable views of Pittwater. The Newport includes a number of eateries to cater to your mood and appetite.
From smoothies and baked goods at The Kiosk Café to Hokkien noodles and salmon salad at the Seafood Market, the alfresco casual feel is unbeatable. Open seven days a week from 10:00 AM (or 9:00 AM on weekends), you can hang out on the deck, sip on a cocktail or enjoy a wood-fired pizza at your leisure.
Hailed by many as the best fish and chips in town, Palm Beach Fish and Chips is open from Thursday to Monday from 11:30 AM. From the traditional beer battered fish and chips to the staple fisherman's basket, this seafood eatery is a popular spot in Palm Beach.
Take your food outdoors and enjoy the view of the water or dine in and try the calamari and prawns. A sunny day at the beach is always made better by a scrumptious portion of fish and chips, particularly when they are cooked to perfection.
