Mr Sushi King Mr Sushi King

We all know Orange is famous for wine. But did you know it's also home to some great Asian eats? Check out these unexpected foodie delights we recently discovered in Orange.

Mr Lim
Located on Summer Street, Mr Lim is a place and a person, both believing in the best when it comes to Korean and Chinese foods. Since coming to Australia in 2009, the man behind Mr Lim (and from whom it takes its name), has been involved in the foodie scene in many different ways. Originally starting out with Mr Sushi King (below), Mr Lim soon realised he could also be offering more exciting, vibrant, dynamic and sustainable food to the people of Orange.

Drawing on the wide range of locally available ingredients and great local wines (the venue is fully licensed), Mr Lim’s has become a beacon for quality Chinese and Korean food. With a vibrant restaurant atmosphere, and also offering top notch take away meals, the menu includes a wide variety of Korean and Chinese classics, as well as a few with a uniquely Orange twist!

Sweet Sour Salt
Sweet Sour Salt is an Orange restaurant that seems to just "get it". Since opening in 2010, its owners have focused on being punchy and memorable, and it shows in the name, dining experience and stunning food. Offering fun casual dining and a wide variety of Asian-inspired dishes, Sweet Sour Salt has a super funky interior, lots of wonderful local wines and beers, top quality service and great value. It also offers online booking and ordering, with both home delivery and take away options available.

A quick glance at their menu reveals a diversity of flavours true to the name. From Thailand to China, Korea to India and Singapore to Malaysia, a meal at Sweet Sour Salt is a true experience of variety. For those wanting Asian cuisine that takes them on an adventure, Sweet Sour Salt is the place to go in Orange.

Raku Raku

The first modern Japanese cuisine to find its home in Orange, Raku Izakaya, or Raku for short, is an eatery that would fit in perfectly on the streets of Sydney. Of course, if it was there it wouldn’t have access to the incredibly high quality raw ingredients that make Orange restaurants a cut above the rest. New to the Orange foodie scene, Raku Izakaya is a Japanese dining alternative for those wanting something truly spectacular served up in a casual atmosphere.

Offering both a lunch and dinner menu, it's also worth considering the 6 course dinner menu that offers lots of variety and is intended to be shared. Yes, for a true taste of Japan, all you need to do is head out to Orange!

Mr Sushi King
Starting out by selling sushi at the Orange Farmers' Market, Mr Sushi opened in 2012 in the heart of Orange.  Offering a sushi train at lunch time and a wide variety of sushi, sashimi, bento style boxes, teriyaki style dishes and dumplings for dinner, it's an easy place to grab a quick bite to eat or have a casual meal out.
