Bamboo Buddha: Holgate

Nestled in the countryside of Holgate, Bamboo Buddha offers a slice of Bali with charming huts for dining and ponds filled with koi. As a pet-friendly cafe, you can take your pup with you to enjoy the serene surrounds. The vegetarian and vegan menu includes healthy treats like Spicy Tofu Scramble and Mexican Stuffed Sweet Potato. You can practice your Downward Dog pose here too, with yoga classes run by experienced practitioners scheduled most days of the week.

Impact Plants and Cafe: Empire Bay

You’ll enjoy contemporary Australian cuisine in the midst of lush, tropical gardens at Impact Plants and Cafe. Open Wednesday to Sunday, pop in with your pooch for a brekkie of eggs benedict, or feast on grilled barramundi for lunch. You’ll also find a kids menu and scrumptious desserts, like Belgian chocolate cake and sticky date pudding.

Chances are, you’ll want to stay for a while to check out the nursery. Qualified staff are on hand to offer expert advice on gardening and you can stock up on Australian natives, seasonal flowers, Bonsai, succulents and tropical foliage plants, with a range of pots to go with them.

Cove Cafe: Terrigal

An outdoor veranda offers a pet-friendly space with views, at the Cove Cafe at the Haven, Terrigal. If it’s a coffee fix you’re after, a unique range of blends exclusive to the cafe ensure you’ll find a brew just for you. The menu here focuses on fresh produce sourced from local suppliers.

For breakfast, try a Toasted Belgian Waffle with whipped blueberry ricotta, lemon myrtle berry gel and Persian pistachio floss. Tempt your taste buds with a Lamb Shoulder Burger for lunch, complete with rocket, pickled onion, chilli jam, lemon labna and sweet potato fries. You can wash it all down with beer, wine, juices and smoothies.

Point Cafe: Avoca Beach

This popular beachfront cafe caters to you and your pet on an outdoor deck with spectacular views of rolling waves and lush headlands. Point Cafe is a local favourite in Avoca Beach, with a stylish but casual ambience that’s perfect for a relaxing breakfast or a lingering lunch with friends. The diverse menu features all-day breakfast with dishes likes Roast Pumpkin Bruschetta and Housemade Granola. For lunch, tuck into seafood with The Point’s Signature Lemon Pepper Squid or try a Teriyaki Salmon Poke Bowl. The drinks menu includes your favourite cocktails, beer, wine and spirits.

Coast 175: Ettalong

An outdoor courtyard makes the perfect environment for your dog, at Coast 175 at Ettalong Beach. The bustling cafe is beloved among locals for a morning fix of award-winning Campos Superior Blend coffee, sourced from an ethically-minded coffee producer that supports sustainability.

An all-day menu boasts fresh, hand-picked ingredients with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. One of the signature dishes is the Super Bowl, with spinach, avocado, peas, halloumi, beans, dukkha and poached egg. The kids’ menu offers a half serve of scrambled or poached eggs, fish and chips, and bacon and egg rolls.

Cecilia’s Restaurant and Wine Bar: Toowoon Bay

After a stroll around Toowoon Bay, there’s a doggy bowl waiting at Cecilia’s for your pup to refresh. Formerly Coast89, new management has launched a modern dining experience here, where a sit-down bar lets you watch Head Chef, Adam, cook your gourmet dish. Start with an entree of Tempura Asparagus, Beetroot Sake Cured Salmon or even Robata Scampi Tails. For a main, you could try Koji Marinated Chicken Breast or Whole Market Fish with cured tomato, ginger soy, zucchini salad and nori crisps. To finish, indulge in Charred Pineapple and Coconut Ice Cream.

The Anchor Coffee House: Budgewoi

The tranquil seaside town of Budgewoi plays host to The Anchor Coffee House, a chilled-out, dog-friendly cafe that’s a short walk from both the lake and the ocean. Pull up a shady seat in the outdoor area, which also includes a small play spot for kids. To satisfy serious hunger in the morning, try a Breakfast Burger with a housemade beef pattie, hash browns, egg and your choice of sauce.
Bon Appetit to you and your pup, on the Central Coast!
