With its charming town, stunning lake and rolling hills, it’s no surprise that Daylesford is considered one of the most picturesque places in Victoria to enjoy a little rest and relaxation. However, it’s not just the beautiful scenery that draws people to the area.

Nestled deep within spa country, Daylesford is home to some of the state’s best wellness getaways. From blissful deep tissue massages to organic mud facials and salt rubs, here are my tips of great places that offer pampering of a lifetime. So go ahead and treat yourself, you won't regret it!

Salus Spa at Lakehouse

The rich mineral waters of central Victoria have been luring wellness seekers to the state’s spa country for over 150 years. Yet, although there are at least 141 natural mineral springs in the area, there are only three places where you can bathe in the renowned healing waters and Salus Spa at the Lake House is one of them.

Set along the shore Lake Daylesford amid the peaceful countryside, this stunning retreat offers an incredible selection of treatments, including luxurious full body hot stone massages and private mineral baths set within rustic treetop cabins that overlook the water.

Once you’re finished soaking yourself, you can also enjoy a delicious meal at the Lake House’s award-winning restaurant, admire the stunning sculptures and artworks located throughout the sprawling gardens, or even spend the night in their lovely hotel. This secluded haven has everything you need.

Daylesford Heart of Yoga

Relaxation doesn't always mean staying still. Daylesford Heart of Yoga is all about nourishing the mind, body and the soul by offering a range of active and rejuvenating wellness experiences like massage, reiki, life coaching, wellness workshops and healing packages.

Let go of all your tensions and stresses while enjoying a private couples yoga class designed to enhance and celebrate the relationship between you and your partner, or attend an open-air meditation class with a few friends. After challenging yourself to a few physical feats, enjoy a healing massage that’ll have you feeling completely recharged.

Prani Glow Day Spa

Treating yourself to some ‘me time’ is easy at Prani Glow Day Spa. The only Thai spa in Daylesford, their core philosophy is based on the Thai word Mettā, which means love, kindness and compassion, and their treatments are all made ethical and sustainable through the use of natural products like lime peels, wild turmeric and flower extracts.

To immerse yourself in a state of total rest and rejuvenation, try a traditional Thai treatment like the Siam Revitalising Ritual, which features a foot massage, a steamed Thai herbal compress of ingredients such as lemongrass and calamus root to melt away tension, and a facial.

Shizuka Ryokan
Shizuka Ryokan in Daylesford is probably the closest you can get to a traditional Japanese bathing experience without having to buy a plane ticket. Upon arrival, you can admire the beautiful Japanese architecture before setting off along a stone path that winds its way through a calming garden before eventually leading you to the reception, where you can choose from a varied menu of spa treatments and wellness workshops.

Try a geisha facial to experience 1200-year-old Japanese natural cleansing techniques for the best skin you could possibly hope for or book a one-on-one yoga meditation to pamper both your mind and your body. No matter what treatments you decide on, you’ll leave feeling better than you have in years.

Daylesford Day Spa

Located in a converted heritage-listed building and equipped with six treatment rooms, the Daylesford Day Spa has everything you need to revitalise your body. Hydrotherapy treatments with special herbal blends like Epsom salts, eucalyptus, lemon, juniper and mint are a soothing way to warm both your bones and your soul, especially in the winter time.

But you also can’t go wrong with traditional spa treatments like body exfoliation, hydration wraps or classic facials paired with a calming head or hand massage. Sometimes the simplest options are just what we need.

Queensberry Studio

If you’re looking for something a little more private then Queensberry Studio is the perfect option. Unlike many of the wellness retreats located in Victoria’s spa country, this boutique venue is only open for private bookings. But whether you're there with your partner or a large group of friends, you’ll be unable to resist the tranquil garden setting and the wonderful treatment packages that ensure you get all the relaxing bang for your buck.

Total body experiences like the aromatherapy spa will leave you feeling so calm and nourished it’ll feel as if you’re floating long after you’ve dried off.
