The warmer months are upon us so it’s time to round up your friends and family and make the most of your weekends in South Australia’s vibrant food and wine mecca, McLaren Vale. Whether you’re looking for an action-packed afternoon, an enchanting night under the stars, a foodie feast or a picture-perfect moment amongst the vines, the region has something for everyone. Here are some top events to check out in February and March 2019.

Hottest 100 at Gemtree Wines - Sunday 27th January

A hot summer’s day with great friends, wine and music is hard to beat. Make the most of your long weekend and gather your mates, grab a glass of Gemtree organic wine and settle in on the grass as the tunes of Triple J’s Hottest 100 streams live. A selection of wines (including frozen rosé) will be available, as well as local beer and cider byGoodieson Brewery and McCarthy’s Orchard.

Fleurieu Film Festival - Saturday 9th February (image above)

Tantalise your senses under the stars at the iconic Fleurieu Film Festival. Wind down under the moonlight at the Film Screening & Awards Night with a selection of short films from the 10 finalists, award-winning wines from S.C. Pannell and a delicious selection of gourmet foods from S.C. Pannell chefs, Hayley White and Cam Clarke. There's also lots of entertainment on offer including by ‘The Young and the Wrestlers’. This ‘feast for the senses’ will be a night to remember.

Chilli Fest WillungaSaturday 9th - Sunday 10th February

Ready to turn up the heat? It’s time to spice things up at the Chilli Festival! Sample local produce, chilli foods and learn how to cook with some of the world’s hottest chillies. When you’re ready to cool things down, grab a local beer or wine and chill out at the local Artisan Market with some live music. It’ll warm your heart (and your mouth!) to know that proceeds will help fundraise for the local Willing Recreation Park redevelopment.

Shakespeare In The Vines A Midsummers Night DreamSunday 10th February

Step back in time and join the world of Shakespeare as your taken on a magical journey to the Athenian woodland where four lovers have escaped the laws of the land to seek freedom and happiness. As the sun sets, dine on fine wine and food as you gaze upon the spectacular backdrop of Coriole. A night filled with love, laughter and dazzling dreams.

Feast & Beats @ SerafinoFriday 15th February / Friday 15th March

If you’re after a great way to kick off your weekend, you won’t regret attending Feast & Beats beside the beautiful lake at Serafino vineyard (above). Expect a fun-filled and lively evening packed with delicious food and wine, with a side of local performers and DJ’s. A family-friendly event, all ages are catered for, with a bouncy castle set up for the kids whilst the adults can sit back and relax underneath the 200-year old gumtrees and soak in the stunning scenery.

Grapes of Mirth presents Comedy & Wine in McLaren ValeSunday 3rd March

Ready for some laughs? Grapes of Mirth returns to its home in McLaren Vale to combine a comedy and wine extravaganza at Coriole. It’s the ultimate chill-out day with six headline comedy sets, Merrick Watts as the host, and some sweet DJ tunes to keep you entertained before, between, and after the comedy has ended. Of course, Coriole wines will be on offer, as well as a selection of locally produced beer and cider, plus there’ll be plenty of gourmet grub going around.
